Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Potato Head Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaylan Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heath is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Showdown - Black Eyed Peas. The key to victory for Potato Head Bob has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Potato Head Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kaylan Heath!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob swings for the body but Heath moves out of range.
Potato Head Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heath just misses with a punch to the body.
Heath tries to clinch up.
Heath fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bob catches Heath with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Heath closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bob to the mat! Bob manages to get full guard.

Heath postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bob is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Heath, into his guard.

Heath had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bob defends it easily.
Heath is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bob is not content to let Heath control the position.

Heath is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bob is just riding it out for now. Heath eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Heath passes to full mount!

Bob regains half guard.
Bob moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Heath's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bob wants to sweep but no luck.

Heath is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bob is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bob has escaped and now he's on top!

Heath is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bob defends well.

Heath looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Heath is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Heath is on top in guard.
Bob pulls Heath in close to prevent any damage.
Bob wants to sweep but no luck.

Heath has gone for a leg lock! Bob slips out almost immediately though and dives into Heath's guard.
Bob advances to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob swings away with a body shot that misses

and Heath counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Heath has his foot on Bob's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bob works his way back into a safe position though.

Heath is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bob is looking to improve his position.

Heath throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bob keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Heath wants to work for an arm triangle but Bob is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bob is looking for a sweep. Heath is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bob's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kaylan Heath showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bob throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bob enables Heath to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bob manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Heath drops back looking for a leg! Bob is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bob manages to kick Heath off! Heath jumps back into Bob's guard.

Bob stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Heath swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Heath manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bob manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Heath drops back looking for a leg! Bob is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bob manages to kick Heath off! Heath jumps back into Bob's guard.
Heath slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Heath thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
