Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malik Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinn comes to the cage accompanied by Break Stuff. Peter Quinn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Quinn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malik Howard! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Howard is defended easily by Quinn. Quinn throws a leg kick but Howard sees it coming and checks it nicely. Quinn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Howard swats him away and circles back towards the center. Howard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Quinn. Howard walks into a stiff left hand from Quinn. Howard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Quinn was covering up waiting for the punch and Howard finishes the takedown easily into guard. Howard wants to control from the top but Quinn keeps moving. Howard wanted to stand there but Quinn had control of the position. Quinn preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Howard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Howard drives through with a takedown into guard. Howard stands up from Quinn's guard - Howard perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Howard misses with a two punch combination.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Quinn. Quinn throws a right and a left that Howard avoids nicely. Quinn misses with a low kick.
Howard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Quinn circles away. Howard looks gassed! Quinn tries a low kick but Howard avoids it. Howard throws a head kick that misses. Quinn works over Howard's head and body with a nice combination. Quinn tries to bum rush Howard with a series of wild strikes but Howard uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Quinn moves into range and clinches up with Howard. Quinn working hard to break the clinch. Howard looking to throw knees to the head but Quinn is blocking nicely.
A frustrated look appears on Quinn's face as he tries to break the clinch. Quinn takes a knee right on the jaw!
Howard jumps guard but Quinn stands there with Howard around his waist. Howard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Peter Quinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malik Howard. Howard misses with a knee to the head. Howard with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Quinn's face as he tries to break the clinch. Quinn breaks the clinch.
Quinn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Quinn dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Howard. That did some damage! Both fighters circling a little - Quinn finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Quinn tries to land a front kick but Howard steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Howard is trying hard to land a takedown here. Quinn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Quinn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Quinn is pressing down on Howard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Howard is holding on for now. Quinn stops Howard from getting back to his feet.
Howard looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Quinn is trying to control. Howard wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Quinn stands up out of the half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howard closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Quinn did well to prevent Howard getting side control. Howard postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Quinn to stand up. Quinn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Quinn walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Howard checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Howard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Quinn to the mat! Quinn manages to get full guard. Quinn keeping moving, preventing Howard from controlling successfully. Quinn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Howard stands up from Quinn's guard - Howard perhaps looking for a knockout. Quinn takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Howard clinches up against the cage. Howard lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Howard thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Quinn's head. Quinn on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Howard working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Quinn's thigh. Quinn counters though and makes it back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Howard's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Malik Howard dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Howard shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Quinn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Howard tries to free his leg and advance position but Quinn is retaining full guard. Quinn is looking to stand up but Howard isn't so interested in that idea. Howard sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Quinn's guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Howard connects with a nice short shot to Quinn's temple. Howard gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Howard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Quinn! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Howard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Quinn can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Howard pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Howard looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Howard lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Howard with the ground and pound from mount. Quinn in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Malik Howard has got the better of the ground game so far. Howard scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howard trying to control but Quinn is having none of it. Howard lands a big shot there that rocks Quinn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Howard working away from the top, dropping strikes. Howard dominating with strikes here. Howard unloading with bombs! Howard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Howard lands with some strikes. Howard in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Howard scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Quinn?

Nope, Quinn has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! BOOM! Howard connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Malik Howard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Howard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Howard moves into the clinch. Quinn fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Howard jumps guard and drags Quinn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Quinn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Howard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Quinn has managed to get both his arms back between Howard's legs - danger averted. Howard is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Quinn dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Howard tries to bench press Quinn off him but Quinn keeps the position. Howard manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Howard seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Howard winds up and cracks Quinn with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Nice strikes from Howard there. Howard missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Howard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Howard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Quinn is defending against the submission attempts here by Howard.

Howard looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Howard decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Malik Howard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Howard rushes Quinn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Howard keeps control of Quinn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howard has clasped his hands together around Quinn's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Quinn is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Howard content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Howard decides to stand up, so the ref orders Quinn to his feet. Howard feints and as Quinn raises his hands in defense, Howard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Howard engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
And that's the end of the fight! Malik Howard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Howard winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
