Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Ovechkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tai Pei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pei has chosen Rad Anthem as his entrance music. Tai Pei has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Ovechkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tai Pei!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pei misses with a wild combination.
Pei misses with a looping left.
Ovechkin moves in looking to clinch but Pei pushes him off.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pei enables Ovechkin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pei manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ovechkin throwing strikes from guard but Pei blocks nicely.

Ovechkin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ovechkin tries for a takedown but Pei sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ovechkin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ovechkin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pei moves into range and connects with a jab.
Pei slaps away a takedown attempt from Ovechkin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pei scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pei cracks Ovechkin with a good jab.
Pei lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ovechkin shoots in looking for a takedown but Pei manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ovechkin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Ovechkin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ovechkin pushes Pei up against the cage in a clinch.
Pei has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Ovechkin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pei gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Ovechkin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ovechkin throws a series of punches but Pei avoids them all with ease.
Ovechkin is breathing heavily.
Nice straight punches there by Pei. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pei.
Pei dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pei connects with the punch.
Pei lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pei feints a jab promting Ovechkin to slip. Pei then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ovechkin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Pei tries to sprawl but Ovechkin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ovechkin prevents Pei from improving his position.
Ovechkin is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Pei is doing well to control the position and prevent Ovechkin from advancing to side control.
Ovechkin prevents Pei from standing back up.
Ovechkin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pei does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pei is trying to control but can't.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck for Ovechkin with that takedown attempt.
Ovechkin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Ovechkin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pei tries to avoid it but Ovechkin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pei to the ground. Pei escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ovechkin looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Ovechkin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Nice uppercut there from Pei.
Pei connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ovechkin. Ovechkin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Ovechkin is rocked!
Pei has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Pei connects with a right hand. Ovechkin shakes it off.
Oh Ovechkin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pei misses with the combination.
Pei fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Pei is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ovechkin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ovechkin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pei circles away quickly and effectively.
Pei moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Pei stalks Ovechkin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ovechkin's face. Ovechkin staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pei lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Pei clobbers Ovechkin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pei takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Ovechkin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pei napping and manages to drive through into side control!
