PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Lasta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daws Berrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Berrera is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: High School Gym. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berrera tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lasta manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Berrera decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lasta's guard.

Let's hope that Berrera has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
I looks like Berrera might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Daws Berrera wasn't active enough on the ground.

Lasta tries to circle away but Berrera has him pinned against the cage.
Lasta tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Berrera just stands there and leans against the cage.
Berrera has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lasta is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lasta lands a hook that snaps the head of Berrera backwards.

Frank Lasta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
