Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Canadian Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Baumgardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baumgardner is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by COWBOYS FROM HELL. Brian Baumgardner acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Canadian Kid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brian Baumgardner!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Canadian Kid does it's job there.


It looks like Brian Baumgardner has been cut.
Canadian Kid leaves Baumgardner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Baumgardner tries for a takedown but Canadian Kid sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Baumgardner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Canadian Kid as he avoids it easily.
Jason Canadian Kid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Baumgardner.
Canadian Kid lands with a thumping leg kick.
Baumgardner throws a hook to the side of Canadian Kid's head but Canadian Kid sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Baumgardner gets the takedown into side control.

Canadian Kid manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baumgardner wants to work for an arm triangle but Canadian Kid is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Canadian Kid holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Canadian Kid has one foot on Baumgardner's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Baumgardner scores a takedown into full mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Canadian Kid keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Canadian Kid wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Baumgardner.

Canadian Kid is looking to improve his position but Baumgardner isn't that keen on the idea.

Canadian Kid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baumgardner on the ground.

Baumgardner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Canadian Kid has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Canadian Kid!

Baumgardner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Canadian Kid defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Canadian Kid passes Baumgardner's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Canadian Kid is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baumgardner is just riding it out for now. Canadian Kid eventually gives up the hold.
Baumgardner moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jason Canadian Kid.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Baumgardner.
Canadian Kid lands a front kick.
Canadian Kid lands with a hook. Baumgardner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Canadian Kid scores with a punch to the head.
Canadian Kid throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
A chopping leg kick lands by Canadian Kid.
Baumgardner takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Canadian Kid lands a nice leg kick that just misses Baumgardner's sensitive parts.
Baumgardner avoids the head kick by Canadian Kid.
Baumgardner takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


Baumgardner is rocked!
Baumgardner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Baumgardner is still on wobbly legs! Can Canadian Kid finish him?
Baumgardner gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jason Canadian Kid!
