Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Langston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). West has chosen The All-American Rejects - It Ends Tonight as his entrance music. The key to victory for Joe Langston has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe West!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langston throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Good work by West as he checks the leg kick.
That kick from West tenderised Langston's leg. Langston is trying to keep his angry face on.
Langston uses good head movement to avoid the hook from West.
West fails with a takedown attempt.
Langston is looking to score with low kicks.
Langston leaves West with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Langston pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces West back to the cage. Langston follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

West is looking to slow Langston down with leg kicks.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Langston is looking to work his way out of this bad position but West is controlling him well.
West remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

West stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Langston.
Langston takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

West lands with a straight right. Langston didn't see that one coming.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from West.
West digs a good body shot into Langston's ribs.
West throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Langston sees it coming and avoids it easily.

West scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
West lands a really nice looking cross but Langston seems unphased.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

West fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Langston.
West connects with a right hand. Langston shakes it off.
West throws a good cross that connects.
Langston takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
West moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Donk. West catches Langston right on the button with a cross.
West dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
West keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
West scores with a head kick. Langston tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


Langston is rocked!
BOOM! West lands a beautiful left hook that drops Langston. Langston tries to recover but West is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Langston lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe West!
