PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azule Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Azule Le!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le shoots in but no luck this time.
Lee throws a series of punches but Le moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Le looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee jabs at Le's body.
Le looks gassed!
Lee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lee.
Lee tries a head kick but it misses.

Lee drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lee wants to control from the top but Le keeps moving.

Lee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lee wants to stand but Le is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Le has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lee is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Le.
Lee is staying tight to Le's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lee wants to stand but Le is controlling his arm.
Lee throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Lee tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lee wants to stand but Le has his arm trapped.
Le tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Le is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lee has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt.
Le avoids the head kick by Lee.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Le fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Le closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away.
Tyson Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Azule Le.
Lee leaves Le with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Le avoids the head kick by Lee.
A right-left combo lands from Lee.
Le fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Le is defended easily by Lee.
Lee lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Le throws a predictable looking body shot
and Lee counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Lee dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Le closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Le pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Lee. No joy for Le on that attempt.
Le is trying desperately to land a takedown but Lee is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Le.
Le gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lee counters with a crisp one two that drops Le! Lee thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Le to his feet! Le is in big trouble!

Le is rocked!
Tyson Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Azule Le.
Lee throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Le crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
