The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws out a powerful jab.
Nice sprawl there from Silva as Hendricks shoots in.
Hendricks looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
Hendricks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hendricks gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Hendricks. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Silva counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hendricks's knee momentarily.

Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Hendricks. Hendricks gets slowly back to his feet.
Hendricks fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Silva stalks Hendricks and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hendricks's face. Hendricks staggers backwards, shaken.
Horrible takedown by Hendricks or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Josh Hendricks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hendricks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Hendricks is breathing heavily.
Silva paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hendricks fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva tests Hendricks's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Silva throws a leg kick which misses Hendricks's front leg but catches the back leg as Hendricks tries to avoid it.
Silva throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Nice straight punches there by Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silva.
Oh Hendricks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hendricks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hendricks seems to have got his legs back now.

Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hendricks looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Silva scores with a three punch combo!
Silva bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Silva lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Hendricks can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Silva and Hendricks drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Silva.
