Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Syete Gabilog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis has chosen Survivor - Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Gabilog looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A nice leg kick lands there from Reis.
Gabilog avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reis fails to land with a series of punches.
Reis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gabilog moves away.
Reis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reis shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Horrible takedown by Gabilog or perhaps it was just good defense by Reis which made him look bad.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gabilog fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reis, pushing him back against the cage.

Reis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gabilog closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Reis tries to kick Gabilog off but Gabilog keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gabilog wants to pass the guard but Reis is defending well.

Reis manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A looping hook to the body misses from Reis. Gabilog does a little dance to reset his feet.
Reis is looking to slow Gabilog down with leg kicks.
Gabilog shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Reis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gabilog postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Reis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gabilog, into his guard.

Reis stands and steps away. Gabilog gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Reis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gabilog tests Reis's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Reis lands a leg kick that knocks Gabilog off balance momentarily.
Reis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gabilog.

Reis throws a sloppy head kick and Gabilog moves out of range easily.
Reis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gabilog tries to clinch but Reis is having none of it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ricardo Reis will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gabilog feints a jab promting Reis to slip. Gabilog then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Reis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Reis looks to land a combination but Gabilog avoids it well.

Gabilog drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gabilog wants to control from the top but Reis keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Reis stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Gabilog shoots for a double leg takedown but Reis sprawls well. He's pushed Gabilog's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ricardo Reis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reis lands a nice looking kick to the body. Gabilog takes a step back to recover.

Ricardo Reis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Gabilog on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Reis bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gabilog crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Reis - the referee stops the clock and Gabilog gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Reis. Gabilog manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Gabilog is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reis has escaped and now he's on top!
