Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Karva Korva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Kabanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinton Kabanov has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karva Korva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Kabanov!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kabanov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Korva.
Kabanov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kabanov is looking to score with low kicks.
Korva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kabanov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Korva wants to stand but Kabanov is controlling the position.

Kabanov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kabanov wants to control from the top but Korva keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Quinton Kabanov was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Nice uppercut lands for Korva. That snapped Kabanov's head back.

Korva pushes Kabanov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kabanov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Kabanov tries to score with some ground and pound. Korva controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Kabanov wants to control but Korva is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kabanov throws a strike aimed at the side of Korva's head but Korva avoids it well.
Kabanov throwing strikes but Korva manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Kabanov wants to control but Korva postures up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Korva lands a nice shot that snaps Kabanov's head back.
Korva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kabanov's waist but Kabanov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Korva off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karva Korva. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kabanov throws a sloppy head kick and Korva moves out of range easily.
Karva Korva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kabanov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kabanov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Korva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kabanov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Korva is staying active underneath Kabanov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Kabanov dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Korva is trying to break free.
Kabanov prevents Korva from breaking the clinch.
Kabanov is pressed up against the cage. Korva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kabanov down to the mat. Kabanov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kabanov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Korva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Korva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kabanov but Kabanov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kabanov has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Korva is trying to keep an underhook but Kabanov manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Kabanov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Let's hope that Kabanov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Quinton Kabanov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kabanov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

The fighters circle momentarily. Korva darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Korva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kabanov tries to avoid it but Korva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kabanov to the ground. Kabanov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A combination from Kabanov does no damage.

Kabanov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kabanov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Korva as he jumps to the side.
Korva cracks Kabanov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Korva scores with a decent looking hook.
Korva throws a nice outside leg kick.
Kabanov is looking to clinch but Korva is avoiding it.
Korva shoots and misses

and Kabanov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Korva's guard now.
Kabanov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Korva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kabanov is in close to Korva's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kabanov pushes down on Korva's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kabanov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Korva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kabanov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Korva's head.
Korva is in trouble now - Kabanov has advanced to mount!

Kabanov looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Korva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Quinton Kabanov.
I've got Kabanov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
