Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. Quick has chosen Rock You Like A Hurricane as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brock Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ray Quick!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Quick trying to hold on to Lesnar's head to control him but Lesnar postures up.

Quick looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Quick looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lesnar trying to control from half guard but Quick is working away.
Quick blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lesnar.
Quick is trying to get back to full guard.
Lesnar working the head and body with strikes.
Lesnar trying to pass the guard but Quick defending well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lesnar feints and as Quick raises his hands in defense, Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Quick is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lesnar postures up in Quick's guard and throws a big left but Quick blocks it.
Quick trying to keep a closed guard but Lesnar is proving a slippery customer.
Lesnar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quick on the ground.

Quick has his foot on Lesnar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lesnar works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Lesnar counters with a shoot takedown. Quick fights it but they end up in guard.
Quick looks gassed!
Lesnar trying to control the position from guard on top but Quick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lesnar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Quick is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea.
Lesnar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Quick tries to buck Lesnar off but Lesnar is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quick regains half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Quick manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Quick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lesnar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Quick is keeping the position for now.

Quick looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Quick is looking for a triangle here but Lesnar uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Quick can't do much from the bottom here.
Lesnar happy to just control the position for now.
Quick gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Quick regains full guard. Nicely done.
Lesnar postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Lesnar dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Quick shoots and misses
and Lesnar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Quick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Quick forces the positional change into back control.

Quick looking to break Lesnar's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lesnar remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Quick will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Lesnar surviving as best he can, preventing damage.
Lesnar is covering up but some of the strikes from Quick are getting through and doing damage.
Quick scores with punches and elbows.
Lesnar can't escape the position.

Quick is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Lesnar knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Lesnar for a finish.
Quick is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Quick gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Quick gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Quick apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Quick with a jab.
Quick tries for a takedown but Lesnar circles away easily

and Lesnar counters with a nice double leg into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quick is on top in guard.
Quick trying to control but Lesnar is working from the bottom.
Quick advances to half guard.
Brock Lesnar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Quick looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Quick working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Quick moves into full mount! Lesnar won't be happy about that!
Lesnar tries to hold on but Quick postures up.
Lesnar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lesnar wants to pass the guard but Quick is keeping the position.
Lesnar is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Lesnar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Quick had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lesnar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Quick Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lesnar's back instead.
Lesnar looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
You can see the frustration on Lesnar's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Quick controls the action.

Quick has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Lesnar has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Ray Quick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well, if Lesnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Quick wants to sweep but no luck.
Lesnar controls from within his opponent's guard.

Lesnar is sitting in close to Quick's body. Quick has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lesnar is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lesnar is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Quick.
