Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damien Satan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saffron Burrows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Satan comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet For My Valentine - Hit The Floor. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Burrows. Satan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Burrows connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Burrows fails in his attempt to clinch.
Burrows lands a two punch combo.
Satan tries to land a front kick but Burrows steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Satan enables Burrows to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Satan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burrows accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Saffron Burrows wasn't active enough on the ground.
Burrows scores with the left hand. Satan knows he should have avoided that one.

Burrows scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Burrows throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Satan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Burrows is in Satan's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Saffron Burrows hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Burrows closes the distance and clinches.
Satan lands a good knee to the midsection. Burrows won't want to take too many of those.

Burrows blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Saffron Burrows seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Satan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Burrows finds it's way round the side to connect with Satan's head.
Satan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burrows manages to avoid it.
Satan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Burrows counters with a single leg into guard. Satan didn't expect that.

Burrows wants to stand but Satan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Satan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Burrows looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Satan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burrows's head.

Burrows is looking for a sweep. Satan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Satan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Satan takes a swing at Burrows's ribcage but misses.
Burrows pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Satan throws a leg kick but Burrows sees it coming and moves out of range.
Satan misses with a low kick.
Burrows lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Satan backs up against the cage.
Burrows connects with a nice looking jab.
Burrows ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Burrows wants to clinch up but Satan keeps it at a distance.
Satan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Satan closes the distance and clinches up with Burrows, looking for a takedown. Satan pushes Burrows against the cage but Burrows circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damien Satan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burrows stalks Satan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Satan's face. Satan staggers backwards, shaken.
Satan throws a hook but Burrows blocks it.
Satan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burrows.
Some bone on bone action there as Burrows checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Satan tries to land a leg kick but Burrows saw it coming and moves away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Satan counters with a low kick, right behind Burrows 's knee.

and Burrows counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Satan's guard now.
Burrows works over Satan with some ground and pound from guard.
Burrows must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Burrows drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Satan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Burrows has Satan in his guard.
