Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Si Matapang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hashishiro Aitama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aitama shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matapang as he avoids it easily.

and Matapang counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Matapang.
Aitama wants to sweep here but Matapang controlling him for the moment.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aitama has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matapang is working away from the top position though.

Matapang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hashishiro Aitama hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Aitama shoots and misses

and Matapang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Aitama won't be happy with that.
Matapang remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Matapang is working to tighten is grip on Aitama's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Aitama has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Matapang is really squeezing tight and eventually Aitama passes out! Matapang breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
