Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wosni Mubarak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Lustmord - Oblivion as his entrance music. James Smith will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wosni Mubarak!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Smith!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mubarak swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mubarak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.
Smith tries to clinch up.
Smith wants to clinch up but Mubarak keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith wants to clinch up but Mubarak keeps it at a distance.
Mubarak shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Mubarak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Smith counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Smith.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but Mubarak won't allow it.
Mubarak misses with a knee strike.
A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Mubarak keeps him there for the moment.
Smith wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Smith dodges an elbow strike from Mubarak.
Mubarak tries for a takedown but Smith manages to get underhooks.
Smith on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Mubarak tries to stall but Smith uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mubarak putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Smith in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mubarak jumps guard and drags Smith to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Mubarak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mubarak manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Mubarak's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Smith passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mubarak is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.

Smith wants to stand but Mubarak is controlling the position.

Mubarak stands and steps away. Smith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mubarak displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith.

Smith wants to clinch but Mubarak slips to the side

and Mubarak counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Mubarak controlling the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smith prevents Mubarak from improving position.

Smith can't do much from the bottom here.
Smith sneaks back into half guard.
Smith regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wosni Mubarak dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mubarak has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mubarak pushes off an throws an elbow but Smith leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mubarak has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Smith drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Smith is looking to control Mubarak's arms but Mubarak gets an underhook and turns him. Now Smith has his back to the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wosni Mubarak showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mubarak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
