The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ramirez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alves was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramirez.
Ramirez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ramirez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alves shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Alves 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alves fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ramirez lands a glancing blow to the side of Alves 's head.
Alves throws a combination. Ramirez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Lemmy Ramirez has been cut.
Alves pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Alves throws an overhand right that lands on Ramirez's shoulder, as Ramirez tries to avoid the shot.
Alves keeps the fight on the outside.
Alves goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Ramirez is rocked!

Alves shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ramirez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ramirez is still in real trouble! Can Alves finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alves loads up on a big left hand. Ramirez felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Alves looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Ramirez can't hide his disappointment, as Alves celebrates the victory.
