Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dog Alpha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dolly Parton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parton has chosen call to prayer as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alpha gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Parton with a flurry of punches that miss.
Alpha pulls Parton in close to prevent any damage.
Parton wants to pass the guard but Alpha is keeping the position.
Parton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Alpha is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Alpha tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Alpha wants to stand and escape but Parton is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Parton throws and elbow that misses. Alpha uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Parton's guard. Nice move by Alpha!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like Dog Alpha has been cut.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Parton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Parton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alpha but Alpha pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Parton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alpha sprawls well initially but Parton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Parton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alpha tries to avoid it but Parton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alpha to the ground. Alpha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dog Alpha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dolly Parton.

Parton shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alpha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
