Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hamir Rolofzki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh James!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James stuffs the takedown attempt from Rolofzki. Rolofzki gets slowly back to his feet.
Rolofzki shoots for a double leg takedown but James sprawls well. He's pushed Rolofzki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rolofzki tries for a takedown but James sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hamir Rolofzki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James fails with the takedown
and Rolofzki counters with a thumping low kick.
Rolofzki tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance.
Rolofzki fails to land with a series of punches.

and James counters with a takedown into side control.
James in side control, just content to control the action for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rolofzki some visible discomfort.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Rolofzki can't do much from the bottom here.

James swings around for an armbar but Rolofzki sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into James's guard.

James keeping moving, preventing Rolofzki from controlling successfully.

James seems keen to control Rolofzki's posture.
James manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
James with a couple of short strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rolofzki is squirming around, avoiding James's attempts to control the action.
Rolofzki tries to reverse the position but James maintains control.
James is landing with some decent strikes but Rolofzki is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
James trying to control but Rolofzki is having none of it.
Rolofzki is bucking up trying to escape but James cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
James looking to finish Rolofzki with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rolofzki!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rolofzki is desperately trying to improve his position but James has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
James working away from the top, dropping strikes.


Rolofzki is rocked!
James postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Rolofzki out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! James goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Josh James!
