Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renan Cavalcante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor McCumby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCumby looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cavalcante misses with an uppercut. McCumby saw that one coming.
Cavalcante pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Cavalcante misses with a looping right.
Cavalcante slips under a jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Cavalcante misses the target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCumby changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cavalcante tries to avoid it but McCumby manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cavalcante to the ground. Cavalcante escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cavalcante throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cavalcante is really struggling to find his range with his punches. McCumby's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice defenses there by McCumby.
Cavalcante tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McCumby was well out of range. Poor timing from Cavalcante.
Cavalcante slips a jab and a cross from McCumby.
Cavalcante looks to land a left hand but McCumby moved out of range nicely.
McCumby looks to land a combination but Cavalcante avoids it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cavalcante drops McCumby with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McCumby looks back up at him and smiles so Cavalcante waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Trevor McCumby has been cut.
Cavalcante throws a hook but McCumby avoids it easily.
McCumby leaves his chin hanging out and Cavalcante seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! McCumby crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Renan Cavalcante!
