Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Irons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irons has chosen Get On Your Knees - Age Against the Machine as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Irons!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diaz misses with a few strikes there.
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Irons moves away.
Diaz tries to clinch but Irons is having none of it.

Diaz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Irons, pushing him back against the cage.
Irons jumps guard but Diaz stands there with Irons around his waist. Irons gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Diaz is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Diaz can't find room to land a body shot as Irons controls the action.

Irons isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Diaz stacks Irons on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Diaz!
Irons is trying to control Diaz's posture but Diaz avoids it.

Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Irons tries to lock up and control but Diaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Diaz is looking to work his way around to Irons's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Diaz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Irons turns into him and now he's in Diaz's guard.
