The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernard takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lee lands a nice looking kick to the body. Bernard takes a step back to recover.
Bernard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bernard lands in his opponent's guard.
Bernard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bernard drops back looking for a leg! Lee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lee manages to kick Bernard off! Bernard jumps back into Lee's guard.

Bernard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Bernard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lee, who protects the arm well.

Bernard has an Americana. Lee didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bernard is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bernard hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
