The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.
Alves shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches King napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Alves wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by King, who protects the arm well.
Alves is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.

King is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Alves looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Alves is chipping away with strikes.
King is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Alves has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Alves has worked his way into a potential kimura here. King is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Alves yanks on the arm and King is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Alves.
