The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rand fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nakamura avoids it really well and circles away.
Nakamura stuffs the takedown attempt from Rand. Rand gets slowly back to his feet.
Daniel Rand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura moves in looking to clinch but Rand pushes him off.
Nakamura stuffs the takedown.
Shunsuke Nakamura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Rand.
No joy there for Nakamura, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rand is defended easily by Nakamura.
Nakamura is looking to chop away at Rand's legs.

Nakamura comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Nakamura thuds his right hand into Rand's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Nakamura fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rand is out of range.

Nakamura lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Rand is looking to close the distance but Nakamura sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Rand crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Rand is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
