Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabe Holter!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubenstein misses with a series of wild punches.

Rubenstein throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Holter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rubenstein is in Holter's guard.
Rubenstein stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rubenstein content to stall in guard here.
Holter wants to stand but Rubenstein is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rubenstein is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Saul Rubenstein wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Rubenstein shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rubenstein showed some decent athleticism there.

Rubenstein stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Holter to get to his feet.
Holter doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rubenstein counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Holter!

Holter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rubenstein. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rubenstein seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Holter for as long as he can get away with.
Rubenstein's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Holter blocks a leg kick.
Holter throws a sloppy head kick and Rubenstein moves out of range easily.
Rubenstein attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Saul Rubenstein is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Holter lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Rubenstein darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rubenstein frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Holter is rocked!
Rubenstein takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Holter is still in real trouble! Can Rubenstein finish him?
Holter takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Rubenstein's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
