The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hennessey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. TupperIII sprawls well initially but Hennessey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hennessey seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

TupperIII throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hennessey's waist but Hennessey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing TupperIII off to one side.
Hennessey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hennessey wants to stand but TupperIII has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Hennessey got a little sloppy there for a moment and TupperIII has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hennessey has managed to get both his arms back between TupperIII's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Let's hope that Hennessey has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

No joy there for Hennessey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
TupperIII shoots in looking for a takedown. Hennessey tries to sprawl out of it but TupperIII keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hennessey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hennessey throws a nice looking combination but TupperIII bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
