The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for He with that takedown attempt.
He shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Obertan defends it nicely.

Obertan shoots in and gets a takedown into He's guard.

He is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Obertan is aware though and is defending well.

He throws his legs up looking for a submission but Obertan uses it to pass to side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
He is looking to reverse the position.
Obertan controlling the position.
He is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee asks Obertan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Obertan prefers to stall for the moment though.
He is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Obertan is controlling him well.

Ilya He is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Obertan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Obertan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Obertan lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Obertan prevents He from getting the reversal.

He is wriggling around trying to escape.
BOOM! Obertan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Obertan looking to control and managing it successfully.
Obertan fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

He wants to control but Obertan is having none of it.
A nice elbow there by Obertan.
The referee warns He that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Obertan is landing with some decent strikes but He is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Obertan content just to control the position here.

Obertan avoids the attempt from He to control.
He really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Obertan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force He to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so He shrugs it off.

Obertan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. He can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Gabby Obertan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Obertan unloads with some vicious shots from mount and He wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Obertan celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
