The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka misses with the combination.
Tanaka throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morita.
Shinobu Morita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanaka is looking to clinch but Morita is avoiding it.
Morita wants to clinch but Tanaka slips to the side

and Tanaka counters by clinching up.
Tanaka has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Morita is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Morita is trying to break the clinch but Tanaka has him pressed against the cage.

Morita wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tanaka keeps control of Morita as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Morita goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Morita is trying to break the clinch but Tanaka has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tanaka breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Morita tries to keep at a distance but Tanaka has taken the fight into the clinch.

Morita is looking to take a break and control but Tanaka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tanaka could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Morita looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Morita wants to take a breather but Tanaka is having none of it.
Tanaka works his way to full guard. Good work.
Morita passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Tanaka wants to control but Morita postures up.
Tanaka is breathing heavily.

Morita is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tanaka knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Morita thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tanaka tries to buck Morita off but Morita is having none of it.

Tanaka bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Morita tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Morita wants to land a leg kick but Tanaka is out of range.
Tanaka throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Tanaka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Morita can't get the takedown.

Tanaka manages to pull guard.
Morita slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
An elbow from Morita crashes against the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tanaka is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Morita is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tanaka has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tanaka wants to get back to full guard.

Morita has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Tanaka defend it? Morita steps over the head and cranks it - Tanaka is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Morita!
