The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chips shoots in and bounces Vieira off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Chips escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vieira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Vieira postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chips is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vieira, into his guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chips won't allow Vieira to sweep him here.

Chips drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vieira manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chips has Vieira in his guard.

Vieira is sitting in close to Chips's body. Chips has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Vieira is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Vieira is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Chips.
