Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Harvath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Boulet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dirk Harvath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Boulet!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harvath throws a sloppy head kick and Boulet moves out of range easily.
Harvath throws a head kick but Boulet moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Harvath.
Harvath misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Boulet pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Boulet closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boulet lands in his opponent's guard.
Harvath had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Boulet is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Harvath Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Boulet's back instead.
You can see the frustration on Boulet's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Harvath looking to break Boulet's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Boulet remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Harvath will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Boulet manages to reverse the position and now he's in Harvath's guard. Nice work there by Boulet.

Boulet passes Harvath's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Harvath has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boulet is working away from the top position though.

Boulet looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Boulet tries to move into range but Harvath moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harvath tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boulet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harvath swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boulet drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boulet jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Harvath escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boulet gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Harvath has his foot on Boulet's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boulet works his way back into a safe position though.

Boulet must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Boulet slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Boulet is pushing down on Harvath's leg trying to pass to half guard. Harvath is fighting to maintain full guard but Boulet has managed to sneak the leg through.
Boulet is trying to work for a kimura but Harvath is defending well.

Boulet wants to pass the guard but Harvath is keeping the position.
Harvath has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boulet can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Harvath misses with a head kick.
Boulet closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harvath circles away.
Boulet shoots in for a double leg but Harvath sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Harvath throws a head kick that misses.
Harvath connects with a high kick.
Dirk Harvath seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boulet avoids the head kick by Harvath.

Boulet looks to land a combination. Harvath sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Boulet shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Harvath's guard.
