The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geerts misses with a straight left.
Smith takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Austin Smith has been cut.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
Geerts misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely.
Davy Geerts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Smith goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Geerts turns into him and now he's in Smith's guard.

Smith has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Geerts is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Smith.

Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Geerts kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Geerts is on top in guard.

Geerts lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
