Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Iam Dabest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Mezias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dabest fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Dabest shoots in for a takedown but Mezias shows good takedown defense.

Mezias fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dabest, pushing him back against the cage.
Dabest tries to land knees in the clinch but Mezias avoids the damage to the body.

Dabest closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mezias circles away.

and Mezias counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mezias not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mezias lands a couple of elbows.
Mezias passes Dabest's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Mezias looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Let's hope that Mezias has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
