Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tchu Tchu Tchu Tchu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Cross is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cross has Tchu Tchu pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cross pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tchu Tchu tumbling to the mat - Cross dives into Tchu Tchu's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cross's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Cross prevents Tchu Tchu from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cross working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tchu Tchu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cross gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tchu Tchu is breathing heavily.
Tchu Tchu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cross thows a big elbow that misses.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cross tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Tchu Tchu counters by moving into the clinch.
Cross lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Cross creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Tchu Tchu takes a shot to the head.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Cross scores with a hook to the body.
Cross keeps control of Tchu Tchu as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, Tchu Tchu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Cross decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

and Tchu Tchu counters by clinching up.

Cross wants the takedown. Tchu Tchu is fighting it off but Cross persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tchu Tchu's guard against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tchu Tchu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cross to the mat! Cross manages to get full guard.
Tchu Tchu works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Tchu Tchu is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cross tries to hold on but Tchu Tchu postures up.
BOOM! Tchu Tchu connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Tchu Tchu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground.
Tchu Tchu lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Cross hang on?
Cross is trying desperately to improve position.

Cross bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

and Tchu Tchu counters with a straight right hand.
Tchu Tchu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cross swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cross shoots in and drives through. Tchu Tchu sprawls well.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Tchu Tchu. Cross shrugs it off though.
Cross closes the distance but Tchu Tchu moves to the side
and Tchu Tchu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Cross moves into range and clinches up with Tchu Tchu.
Tchu Tchu wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cross has him pressed against the cage.

and Tchu Tchu counters with a three punch combo that has Cross backing up. Cross nods at Tchu Tchu to acknowledge the strikes.

Tchu Tchu Tchu Tchu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cross closes the distance but Tchu Tchu moves to the side
and Tchu Tchu counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cross seems to be working for a kimura but Tchu Tchu defends the submission attempt.
