The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rockside paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Day looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Happy Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rockside stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Day swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rockside drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Day manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rockside has Day in his guard.

Rockside has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Day can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rockside looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Day passes into half guard.
Rockside is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Day's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Day's back!

Rockside is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Day is defending well though. Rockside let's go of the attempt for now.

Rockside seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Day's chin but Day turns very nicely into Rockside's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Day.

Rockside wants to advance to full mount but Day doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Rockside manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Day manages to get himself to full guard.

Day is in a horrible position here. Rockside smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Day is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Rockside punching from mount but Day doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Rockside lands a big elbow.
Rockside throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Rockside breaks from Day's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rockside is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Day is surviving well by controlling Rockside's body position as best he can.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rockside misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Rockside goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Day is on top in guard.
Day won't allow Rockside to sweep him here.

Rockside bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Day's guard.

Rockside is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Day defends it well.

Day kicks Rockside off and gets back to his feet.

The fighters circling - Rockside throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rockside closes the distance and clinches up with Day, looking for a takedown. Rockside pushes Day against the cage but Day circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Day lands a knee to the body.
Day landing knees to the head.

Rockside lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Day backwards.

Day unloads a knee to the mid-section. Rockside lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Rockside tightens his grip and picks Day up, before dumping him to the ground. Day manages to land in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rockside, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
