The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Potter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Van Der Dick closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Potter to the mat! Potter manages to get full guard.
Van Der Dick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Van Der Dick stands up from Potter's guard - Van Der Dick perhaps looking for a knockout.
Nice takedown defense from Potter. No joy for Van Der Dick on that attempt.
Van Der Dick shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Potter napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Van Der Dick tries for a takedown but Potter circles away easily
and Potter holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Van Der Dick ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Van Der Dick no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Van Der Dick is looking for a triangle but Potter pushes his legs off easily.
Van Der Dick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van Der Dick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Potter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Van Der Dick is tightening it up a little... Potter has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Potter reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Potter taps out! nice BJJ there by Van Der Dick!
