PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Han Do Jin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jin comes into the arena with Depth Charge - Depth Charge (Han Do Jin) blaring out of the sound system. Han Do Jin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Han Do Jin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Darko!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Han Do Jin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Jin. Those never looked like landing.
Jin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Darko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Darko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jin.
Darko shoots for a double leg takedown but Jin sprawls well. He's pushed Darko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Darko.
Darko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Darko has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Darko closes the distance and clinches up with Jin, looking for a takedown. Darko pushes Jin against the ropes but Jin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jin throws a series of punches but Darko avoids them all with ease.

Jin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Darko on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Jin looks to land a right hand but Darko moved out of range.
Darko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jin swivels and escapes.
Darko looks gassed!

Jin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jin looks to land a combination. Darko sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Darko shoots in for a double leg but Jin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jin scores with the left hand. Darko knows he should have avoided that one.
Jin jabs Darko to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jin scores with a one two! Darko had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Darko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Darko somewhat.

Jin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Jin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Jin tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Darko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Darko swats away the attempt to clinch by Jin.
Jin thows a body shot but no joy.
Jin tries to clinch up but Darko circles away and keeps his distance.
Jin throws a right hand that Darko ducks under and follows up with a left that Darko also avoids with ease.
Jin lands with a nice body punch.
Jin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Darko.
Darko fails with the takedown.
Darko takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Darko is trying desperately to land a takedown but Jin is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Darko.

Jin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Darko circles away quickly and effectively.

Jin slaps away a takedown attempt from Darko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Darko moves out of range of the body kick.
Darko takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Darko shoots for a double leg takedown but Jin sprawls well. He's pushed Darko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jin throws the left hand but Darko avoids the punch easily.
Darko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jin but Jin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Darko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jin as he avoids it easily.
Darko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jin lands a right hook to the body.
Darko takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Darko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jin wants to clinch up but Darko keeps it at a distance.

Darko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jin circles away.

Darko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Han Do Jin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jin tries to clinch there but Darko circles away.
Han Do Jin is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd cheers as Jin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Darko doesn't seem phased though.

Darko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Darko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jin tries to avoid it but Darko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jin to the ground. Jin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Darko has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Darko moves out of range as Jin strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jin tries to kick Darko off but Darko keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Darko is looking to advance position but Jin won't allow it.
Darko works his foot free and advances to mount.

Frank Darko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Darko.
Darko moves forwards but Jin connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jin is working the combinations to good effect here.

Jin jabs Darko to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Han Do Jin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Darko shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jin misses with a two punch combination.
Jin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Darko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A cross from Jin lands.

Han Do Jin showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
