Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Howlett!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Santiago .
Howlett staying out of range there.

Santiago fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Howlett, pushing him back against the cage.
Howlett has Santiago pushed against the cage.
Howlett looking to slow down the pace here.
Santiago can't break the clinch.
Howlett lands a right hand.
Howlett taking a breather.
Santiago lands a right hand that snaps the head of Howlett backwards.
Santiago blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Santiago scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Howlett's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Santiago throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Howletts head.

Santiago has had enough of the clinch but Howlett keeps him there for the moment.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Howlett takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Santiago is looking to break free of the clinch but Howlett has double underhooks.
Santiago has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Howlett is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Santiago .
Santiago is trying to drag Howlett to the mat but Howlett just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Howlett is trying to stall.
Howlett has Santiago pressed against the cage, preventing Santiago from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Howlett looks to throw an elbow but misses.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Howlett creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Santiago gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santiago accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Howlett wants to stand and escape but Santiago is having none of it.
Santiago wants to control from the top but Howlett keeps moving.
Howlett wants to stand but Santiago is controlling the position.
Santiago controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jorge Santiago .
Howlett has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Howlett there as he acknowledges the shot.
Howlett looks gassed!

Santiago instigates a clinch.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jorge Santiago just wasn't active enough.
Santiago throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Howlett.
Santiago wants to clinch.
Santiago tries to clinch but Howlett is having none of it.

Santiago clinches up against the cage.
Howlett has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Santiago wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Santiago looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Howlett looking to stall.
Santiago tries to break the clinch but Howlett is controlling the position.
Santiago scores with a nice hook to the head.

Santiago avoiding damage as Howlett throws knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Santiago moves into the clinch.
Santiago tries to break free but Howlett pushes him back against the cage.

Santiago jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Howlett walks away with a smile on his face. Santiago gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Santiago looks to land a left hand but Howlett moved out of range nicely.
Santiago scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Santiago misses with an uppercut.
Nice straight punches there by Santiago . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Santiago .


Howlett is rocked!
Jorge Santiago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Santiago cracks Howlett with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Howlett tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Santiago pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Howlett is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Santiago !
