Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Read (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Narushima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Read kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Killing in the name of. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Read rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Narushima counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Read wants to sweep but no luck.
Narushima wants to control from the top but Read keeps moving.
Read looking for a sweep. Not yet Read, not yet.
Narushima trying to control the position from guard on top but Read is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Narushima seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ryo Narushima.
Narushima with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Narushima chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mark Read seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Narushima lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Narushima tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Narushima throws a leg kick which misses Read's front leg but catches the back leg as Read tries to avoid it.
Read throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Narushima's waist but Narushima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Read off to one side.

Read is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Narushima throws a head kick that misses.

Read swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Narushima connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Narushima is looking to slow Read down with leg kicks.
Read throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Narushima counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
That kick from Narushima tenderised Read's leg. Read is trying to keep his angry face on.
Narushima slaps away a takedown attempt from Read, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Read. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Good leg kick by Narushima there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Read on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Narushima bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Read's head backwards.
Narushima uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Read.
Read shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Narushima pinned against the cage. Narushima gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Read. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Read looks to throw the jab but Narushima is out of range.
Narushima lands a nice leg kick that just misses Read's sensitive parts.
Read tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Narushima was well out of range. Poor timing from Read.
Narushima scores with a kick to the midsection.
Narushima catches Read with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Read pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Narushima lands a really nice looking cross but Read seems unphased.

Narushima thows a body kick. Read tries to catch it but that hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Crunch! Narushima slams his shin into Read's torso.
Narushima throws a head kick that Read semi-blocks.
Read has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Narushima.

Narushima turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Narushima throws a nice inside leg kick.
Narushima lands with a kick to the temple. Read shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Narushima feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Reads jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Read throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Narushima counters with a thumping low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryo Narushima dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Narushima bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Narushima.
Read is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Read misses with a right hand
and Narushima counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Read will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Narushima lands a nice looking body kick.
Narushima throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Read.
Narushima turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Narushima lands a big head kick that sends Read tumbling to the mat! Narushima takes a step backwards and waves Read back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Read is rocked!
Narushima and Read are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Narushima throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Read into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Narushima knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
