Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Simms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson cracks the inside of Simms's front leg.
Simms is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stevenson throws a sloppy head kick and Simms moves out of range easily.
Simms looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stevenson is fending him off so far but Simms persists. Nope, Stevenson circles away and we're back to standing.

so Simms counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevenson wants to get back to his feet but Simms is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Stevenson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Simms controls the pace.
Simms really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevenson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Simms tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stevenson swivels and escapes.

Stevenson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Simms's guard.
Stevenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simms swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Simms had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stevenson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simms Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stevenson's back instead.

Stevenson breaks Simms's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Stevenson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Simms, who protects the arm well.

Stevenson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Simms looks calm but he's in trouble here. Stevenson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Simms is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Stevenson lets go of the hold and Simms can pop his arm back in it's socket.
