PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jin Kazama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatsuya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tatsuya Aoki was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Kazama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Aoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Kazama which made him look bad.
Kazama tries to clinch up but Aoki circles away and keeps his distance.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kazama as he jumps to the side.
Kazama displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aoki.
Jin Kazama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tatsuya Aoki.
Kazama tries to clinch there but Aoki circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aoki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kazama is fending him off so far but Aoki persists. Nope, Kazama circles away and we're back to standing.
Kazama connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Kazama forces Aoki back against the cage and clinches.

Kazama pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kazama slaps away a takedown attempt from Aoki, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Aoki circles away from the clinch attempt.
Aoki dives in and grabs Kazama's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kazama pushes down on Aoki's head and hops out.
Kazama tries to close the distance and clinch but Aoki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kazama as he avoids it easily.

Kazama moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aoki blocks an uppercut.
Kazama using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Aoki has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Aoki tries to pull guard but Kazama won't allow it.

Kazama pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kazama fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kazama moves in looking to clinch but Aoki pushes him off.

Aoki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kazama!
Aoki trying to control but Kazama is having none of it.
Kazama has given up his back here. Will Aoki look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Aoki is landing with some decent strikes but Kazama is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Aoki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Aoki has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Aoki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kazama tries to avoid it but Aoki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kazama to the ground. Kazama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aoki unloads with some shots from mount but Kazama bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aoki throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kazama because Aoki loaded up on that one.

Aoki has Kazama flattened out and is raining down punches.

Tatsuya Aoki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kazama stuffs the takedown attempt from Aoki. Aoki gets slowly back to his feet.

Jin Kazama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Aoki shoots in but no luck this time.
Kazama keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Aoki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Aoki lands a nice short elbow.
Aoki is controlling the pace.

Aoki thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Aoki seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Aoki is looking to stall here but Kazama recovers full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Tatsuya Aoki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Aoki winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
