PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oppolla Doc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shogun Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doc's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Heat - The Jesus and Mary Chain. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with an attempted mid kick.
Silva slips under a jab from Doc.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silva, right into the meat.
Doc avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Silva throws a combination. Doc tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Silva ducks under a wild hook from Doc.
Doc lands a glancing blow to the side of Silva's head.
Doc misses with the body kick
and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Silva throws out a leg kick but Doc moves out of range and Silva only half commits.
Doc will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Doc moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Silva dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Silva trying to control the position but instead, Doc has worked for underhooks and has pushed Silva into the cage.
Doc crunches a lovely knee into Silva's ribcage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doc is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Silva is defending well for now.

Silva is pushing Doc up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Silva is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Doc is keeping busy.
Silva is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Doc has denied him.
Doc lands an elbow just above Silva 's eye.

Silva swings wildly with an uppercut but Doc uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
