Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conner Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreas Olsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olsson has chosen Kenta - Just idag är jag stark as his entrance music. Andreas Olsson has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andreas Olsson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Olsson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown but Olsson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cruz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cruz tries to clinch up but Olsson circles away and keeps his distance.
Olsson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Olsson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cruz.
Olsson fails to land with a series of punches.

Olsson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cruz to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cruz trying to control but Olsson is working from the bottom.
Olsson wants to sweep but no luck.

Cruz tries to free his leg and advance position but Olsson is retaining full guard.

Cruz is working hard here to advance position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cruz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Olsson wants to sweep but no luck.
Cruz trying to control but Olsson is working from the bottom.
Cruz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Olsson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Cruz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Olsson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Olsson has escaped and now he's on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cruz working for a triangle but Olsson defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Olsson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Cruz wants to hit a switch here but Olsson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Cruz there!

Cruz wants to hold on but Olsson pushes him away.
Cruz is desperately trying to improve his position but Olsson has a good base and remains in mount.

The referee warns Cruz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Olsson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cruz is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cruz regains half guard.
Cruz trying to hold on to Olsson's head to control him but Olsson postures up.
Cruz is looking to escape.
Cruz on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cruz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Olsson is working away from the top position though.
Olsson is nestled in close to Cruz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Olsson misses the jab.

Cruz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cruz wants to control from the top but Olsson keeps moving.

Olsson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cruz's guard.

Olsson winds up and cracks Cruz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Olsson prevents Cruz from standing back up.
Cruz wants to get back to full guard.

Cruz pushes Olsson off looking to stand but Olsson dives back in and keeps control.

Olsson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cruz's head.
Olsson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cruz controlling the position for now.
Cruz regains full guard. Nicely done.
Cruz has momentary wrist control but Olsson slips an elbow through the middle.
Olsson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cruz keeping moving, preventing Olsson from controlling successfully.
Cruz looking for a sweep. Not yet Cruz, not yet.
Olsson with a flurry of punches that miss.

Cruz is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Olsson has his hands clasped together but Cruz extends an breaks Olsson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cruz.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Conner Cruz!
