PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mister Pink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael McCready (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pink comes to the cage accompanied by Mitsa. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael McCready!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCready shoots in looking for a takedown. Pink tries to sprawl out of it but McCready keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pink manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pink gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and McCready counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McCready stops Pink from standing up.
Pink working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McCready.
Pink looking for a sweep. Not yet Pink, not yet.
McCready throws a strike but Pink rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pink wants to pass the guard but McCready is keeping the position.

Pink drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and McCready dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCready not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
McCready working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pink's head.
Pink on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pink tries to get out of the position.
Pink can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McCready controls the pace.
Pink wants to stand and escape but McCready is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pink is trying to keep McCready in close.
Pink is looking to stand up but McCready isn't so interested in that idea.
Pink is breathing heavily.
McCready is in close to Pink's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Pink will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Pink is working an open guard so McCready takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

McCready changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pink looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McCready creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Pink knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCready on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Pink takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

McCready working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
McCready has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pink is letting McCready control him for a moment.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McCready decides to stand back up. McCready steps back and let's Pink get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pink gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McCready to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McCready postures up and lands a big shot to Pink's brow.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and McCready counters with a shoot takedown. Pink fights it but they end up in guard.
McCready is looking to work some ground and pound but Pink has wrist control.
McCready trying to control but Pink is working from the bottom.
Pink is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McCready is controlling him.
McCready passes Pink's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pink has hold of McCready's hands but McCready slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McCready connects with a nice short shot to Pink's temple.

McCready perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

McCready thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pink's head.
McCready thows a huge punch but Pink dodges it nicely.

McCready looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pink with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McCready takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McCready drops an elbow to the side of Pink's head.

McCready is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Oh Pink is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McCready has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McCready postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Pink in real trouble here! The ref calls for Pink to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
