The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eggson tries to clinch but gamboa moves out of range.
Eggson throws a push kick but gamboa slaps the foot to one side.

gamboa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Eggson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Eggson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Eggson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. gamboa manages to get himself to full guard.
Eggson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Eggson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
gamboa is trying to control the position but Eggson postures up.

gamboa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Eggson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for gamboa.
Eggson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down gamboa's shoulder. That is not cool.
Eggson cracks gamboa with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Eggson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. gamboa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Eggson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. gamboa looks calm but he's in trouble here. Eggson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. gamboa is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Eggson lets go of the hold and gamboa can pop his arm back in it's socket.
