Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gonzalez avoids it really well and circles away.
Gonzalez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gracie.

Gonzalez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gracie has a takedown stuffed.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gonzalez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Mr Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonzalez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
Gonzalez lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into rage.

Gonzalez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gracie.
Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gonzalez manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gonzalez, who protects the arm well.

Gonzalez prevents Gracie from improving position.
The ground and pound from Gracie seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie taking a break here but Gonzalez is having none of it and regains half guard.
Gonzalez is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gracie maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Gonzalez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gracie has cracked it and Gonzalez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gracie!
