Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tron Brickshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tron Brickshaw acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tron Brickshaw!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter tries to clinch but Brickshaw is having none of it.
Brickshaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Carter sprawls well. He's pushed Brickshaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brickshaw has a takedown stuffed.

Brickshaw shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Carter is in all sorts of trouble here.
Carter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carter is squirming around, avoiding Brickshaw's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brickshaw moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Carter has worked his arm free - good work by Carter!

Brickshaw tries for a kimura but Carter is defending well.
Carter sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Carter wants to get back to his feet.
Carter moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Brickshaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Carter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brickshaw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brickshaw manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brickshawis looking to pass into half guard but Carter pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Carter is in guard.
Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Brickshaw is retaining full guard.
Carter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brickshaw is proving hard to escape from.

Brickshaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Brickshaw looks gassed!

Brickshaw looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Carter passes into half guard.
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brickshaw keeps working.
Brickshaw gets full guard.

Carter decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Brickshaw, up you get!
Carter shoots in and drives through. Brickshaw sprawls well.
Carter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brickshaw fails to land the takedown.
John Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tron Brickshaw.

The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Brickshaw pushes Carter up against the cage in a clinch.

Brickshaw manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brickshaw is working for takedown but Carter is calmly controlling the position for now.

and Carter counters by moving into the clinch.

Carter tries to land a knee to the head but Brickshaw blocks with his arms.
Brickshaw tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carter just stands there and leans against the cage.
Brickshaw avoids the elbow strike from Carter, against the cage.

Brickshaw pulls Carter into guard.

Carter being controlled here momentarily.

Brickshaw is looking for a triangle here but Carter uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Brickshaw struggling a bit here.
Carter tries to move into full mount but can't pass Brickshaw's legs.
Carter wants to stand but Brickshaw is controlling his arm.
Brickshaw gets back to half guard.
Brickshaw regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Carter will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Carter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Brickshaw drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

John Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tron Brickshaw.

Brickshaw is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carter is just riding it out for now. Brickshaw eventually gives up the hold.
Carter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brickshaw not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Brickshaw seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Brickshaw stalling away here and it's allowed Carter to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Brickshaw stands and steps away. Carter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Brickshaw goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Brickshaw's guard! Nice work there by Carter!

Brickshaw is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brickshaw looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Brickshaw is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Brickshaw lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carter!

Brickshaw seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Brickshaw seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Carter is refusing to be controlled, as Brickshaw sits in half guard.

Tron Brickshaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Brickshaw looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Brickshaw throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carter.
Brickshaw tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes.

and Brickshaw counters with a single leg into guard. Carter didn't expect that.
Carter has Brickshaw pulled in close to control his posture.
Brickshaw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Carter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Brickshaw looking to sit in guard and control but Carter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brickshaw has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Brickshaw throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Brickshaw had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Carter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Brickshaw Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Carter's back instead.

Brickshaw controls the position.
Carter turns into Brickshaw and is now in his guard.
Carter wants to control from the top but Brickshaw keeps moving.
Brickshaw throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Brickshaw looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brickshaw is on top in guard.
Brickshaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brickshaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Brickshaw makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Brickshaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brickshaw drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brickshaw has Carter in his guard.

Brickshaw looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carter has picked Brickshaw up and slammed him! Brickshaw can't keep hold of the triangle and Carter manages to pass to side control!
Brickshaw tries to bench press Carter off him but Carter keeps the position.
Brickshaw sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Brickshaw is trying to control but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tron Brickshaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brickshaw has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
