The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Barton looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Michaels gets a clinch.

Michaels jumps into guard, dragging Barton to the mat.
Michaels manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barton manages to get himself to full guard.
Michaels trying to control but Barton is working from the bottom.
Michaels landing with the ground and pound.
Barton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Michaels throwing strikes but missing.
Barton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Michaels trying to control the position from guard on top but Barton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Michaels is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Michaels is looking to work some ground and pound but Barton has wrist control.
Barton keeping moving, preventing Michaels from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Michaels accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Barton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Michaels seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luis Michaels.
Michaels tries for a takedown but Barton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Michaels fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Barton sprawls well initially but Michaels persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Michaels is pressing down on Barton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Barton is holding on for now.
Well, if Michaels is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Michaels is looking for a kimura here.

Michaels is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Michaels winds up and cracks Barton with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Michaels trying to control the action but Barton is working from the bottom.

Michaels gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Michaels fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barton avoids it really well and circles away.
Michaels cracks the inside of Barton's front leg.

Barton keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Barton shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Michaels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barton's waist but Barton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Michaels off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Michaels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Michaels doesn't manage to clinch there - Barton circles away.
Barton stuffs the takedown attempt from Michaels. Michaels gets slowly back to his feet.
Michaels tries to close the distance and clinch but Barton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barton stuffs the takedown.
Michaels changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barton tries to avoid it but Michaels manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barton to the ground. Barton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Michaels has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Michaels tries to score a body lock takedown but Barton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Barton scores with a nice body kick.
Michaels shoots in for a double leg but Barton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Barton swats away the attempt to clinch by Michaels.
Michaels lands a jab to Barton's midsection.
Michaels fails with a takedown attempt.
Barton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Michaels.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luis Michaels. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Michaels darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Michaels stands up and beckons Barton to join him on the feet.

Michaels tries to close the distance and clinch but Barton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Michaels loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Michaels working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Barton's head.
Michaels slips nicely into half guard.
Michaels works his foot free and advances to mount.
Michaels controlling from mount.
Michaels is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Barton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Michaels get's back to his feet.
Michaels lands with a straight right. Barton didn't see that one coming.
Michaels fails to land the takedown.
Michaels looks to land a combination. Barton sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Barton is rocked!
Michaels closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Barton out cold! Barton corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Luis Michaels!
