Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rip James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Masahiko Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura with a body punch. A glancing blow.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Kimura tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kimura manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James misses with a two punch combination.
James throws a shot from downtown. Kimura moves away and avoids it.

Kimura drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kimura advances to half guard.
James tries to roll over but Kimura keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kimura sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. James defending well though.
Kimura has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
James is looking to improve his position.
Kimura trying to mount his opponent but James defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kimura throwing shots but James is blocking nicely.
Kimura moves nicely into side control.
Kimura gets to mount! James was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Kimura raining down shots from the mount!

Kimura has control of James's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and James regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kimura lands a big elbow - James is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and James is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Masahiko Kimura!
