The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Martello is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.
Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Martello sits in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Martello in particular looking to stall.
Martello trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Martello seems content to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Max Martello wasn't active enough on the ground.

Martello throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.
Martello changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Martello manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Martello tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Martello shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Martello's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lorian Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Martello tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.
Lorian Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Martello.
