PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Bang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kasinova Gurama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kasinova Gurama told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gurama enables Bang to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gurama manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bang has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gurama tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bang just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bang tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gurama's elbow.

Horrible takedown by Bang or perhaps it was just good defense by Gurama which made him look bad.
Kasinova Gurama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gurama lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bang has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bang and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Bang's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Gurama in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ryan Bang.
