Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Alarcon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stevie Why!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Why avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Alarcon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alarcon wants it to stay on the feet.
Alarcon throws a leg kick which misses Why's front leg but catches the back leg as Why tries to avoid it.
Alarcon scores with a punch to the head.
Oscar Alarcon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Why shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alarcon sprawls well. Alarcon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Why gets slowly back to his feet.
Alarcon works Why's body with a nice hook.
Why misses with a takedown attempt - Alarcon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Oscar Alarcon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stevie Why.
Alarcon changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Why on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Alarcon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alarcon misses with a looping left.
Alarcon lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Why takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Oscar Alarcon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alarcon cracks the inside of Why's front leg.
Alarcon fakes the leg kick and cracks Why in the body.

Why chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alarcon can pounce on him.

Why defending well as Alarcon loads up on a big left hand.

Why gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alarcon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Why bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alarcon's guard.

Alarcon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Why can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Why thows a big elbow that misses.

Alarcon keeping full guard, as Why tries to pass.
Why has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alarcon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alarcon trying to control but Why is having none of it.
Why tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Why is squirming around, avoiding Alarcon's attempts to control the action.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Alarcon looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Why working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alarcon controlling the pace for now.
Alarcon wants to control the pace but Why is squirming around nicely.

Alarcon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Why is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Why and Alarcon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Why trying to control but Alarcon flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oscar Alarcon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Why avoids the head kick by Alarcon.
Why with a lazy takedown attempt
and Alarcon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Why on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Alarcon. Alarcon obviously looking to wear him down.
Alarcon scores with a jab to the head.
Alarcon digs a good body shot into Why's ribs.

Why shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Alarcon has Why pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Why preventing the sweep.

Alarcon is trying to hold Why in close to prevent damage but Why has managed to pass into half guard.

Why is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Why is pressing down on Alarcon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Alarcon is holding on for now.
Why thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Why trying to control from half guard but Alarcon is working away.
Alarcon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Alarcon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Alarcon wants to control but Why is keeping busy.
Alarcon manages to get to full guard.
Why with a flurry of punches that miss.
Why sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alarcon's guard.
Why wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alarcon keeps working.
Why wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Alarcon uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Why throws a big right hand that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Why won't allow Alarcon to sweep him here.
Alarcon controls Why momentarily but Why frees himself.
Alarcon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Why with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Why advances position into side control!
Why connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alarcon some visible discomfort.
Alarcon tries to improve position but can't.

Why is working to tighten is grip on Alarcon's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Alarcon has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Why is really squeezing tight and eventually Alarcon passes out! Why breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
