Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cottage Cheese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Smit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smit is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Can't be Touched. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Smit!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smit tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Paul Smit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smit connects with a crisp jab.
Cheese throws a body kick that misses.
Cheese tries to land a front kick but Smit steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cheese stuffs the takedown.
Cheese misses with a body kick.
Smit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cheese is fending him off so far but Smit persists. Nope, Cheese circles away and we're back to standing.
Cheese scores with a nice right hand.
Cheese throws a right and a left that Smit avoids nicely.

Cheese lands a big shot that drops Smit! Can he finish him?

Smit is rocked!

It looks like Paul Smit has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cheese passes Smit's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Smit is still in real trouble! Can Cheese finish him?
Cheese thows a huge punch but Smit dodges it nicely.

Cheese is working for a kimura but Smit is defending it quite comfortably.
Cheese takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cheese prevents Smit from improving his position.
Smit seems to have recovered his senses.

Cheese is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smit doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cheese.
Smit is not content to let Cheese control the position.

Well, if Cheese is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Cheese wants to control but Smit is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cottage Cheese.
Cheese throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Cheese wants to clinch.
Cheese stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cheese wants it to stay on the feet.
Cottage Cheese has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Smit.
Cheese ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smit moves away.

Smit fails with a takedown attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Cheese. Those never looked like landing.

Smit looks gassed!
Cheese rushes Smit with punches - Smit moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Smit goes down! Cheese follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
